1 - (concert-lecture) George Gershwin’s original output for piano solo. An interesting concert program option

2 - (concert-lecture) Keith Emerson is well known as rock star member of the group Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. Yet, his fame as rock musician has overshadowed his ability as composer. Giuseppe Lupis’ piano solo transcriptions of Keith Emerson’s Tarkus Suite (1971) and other works, aim at bringing light on Emerson as composer and expanding the solo piano repertoire

3 - (concert-lecture) A look into Nino Rota’s (1911-1979) piano solo version of his ballet-comedy Le Moliere Imaginaire (1976.) Two years before his death Nino Rota mailed a manuscript of his piano version of Le Moliere Imaginaire (1976)  to Pino Tagliatori, a friend and music collector. Rota’s hope was for pianist Luciano Sangiorgi (1921-1992) to perform his music in public concerts. It never happened. Instead, two years ago Mr. Tagliatori donated the manuscript to Giuseppe Lupis. The centennial of Nino Rota’s birth is quickly approaching and there is no better time to present such original treasure;

4 - (concert-lecture) Italian pianist Luciano Sangiorgi (1921-1992) was gifted.  Immediately attracted by jazz and American music, forbidden by the Italian regime during his youth , his surprising fame peaked in the 1950’s: he was certainly the most popular pianist in Italy. Yet, in spite of two hundred well received records, regular appearances on radios and TV’s (including a brief performance as himself in a popular movie) and countless concerts in major venues, Sangiorgi managed to quickly disappear.
